Where are we based?
We are based in Fort William which has good road and rail links with all the major Scottish cities, such as Glasgow, Edinburgh & Inverness. As well as being the largest town in the Highlands, Fort William is also the geographic & administrative centre of Lochaber.
LOCHABER
Lochaber itself is a place of superlatives. Amongst some of the more notable are that it contains Britain's highest mountain (Ben Nevis), the deepest loch (Loch Morar), the westernmost point on the UK mainland (Ardnamurchan lighthouse), and Britain's remotest pub (Inverie on Knoydart).
With its location at the foot of Ben Nevis and as a natural gateway to the picturesque Glen Nevis, Fort William is an ideal starting point for these two popular objectives.
But as popular as they are, and as befits somewhere that is internationally recognised (albeit unofficially!) as being the Outdoor Capital of the UK , there is no shortage of other things to do and places to see in and around the million or so hectares that lie within reach of the largest town on the west coast of Scotland.
So whether it's walking to the top of one or more of the 80 or so nearby Munro's, through the romatic glens and ancient woodlands, or along the banks of the atmospheric lochs in search of that elusive creature of nature why not come and experience the real history and nature of the West Highlands with us.
