Suggested Clothing & Equipment To Have 

Back pack

* Day rucksack (approx 25 litre capacity)

 

* 2-3 suitably sized waterproof bags to keep contents dry

Clothing

* Waterproof jacket

 

* Waterproof trousers

*Windproof softshell jacket

*Lightweight down or synthetic jacket

* Walking boots/shoes (worn in and ideally with ankle support)

* Walking Socks - minimum 3 pairs (medium – heavyweight, woollen or wool mix)

* Trousers/leggings - minimum 2 pairs - ideally windproof (not cotton)

* Short sleeved t-shirts/base layers - minimum of 3 – quick dry synthetic (not cotton)

* Long-sleeved shirt – quick dry synthetic type (not cotton)

* Fleece - minimum of 2

* Warm fleece or wooly hat

* Gloves - minimum of 2 pairs (one of which should be designated as both waterproof and windproof ) 

* Waterproof Gaiters

* Wide brimmed sun hat or cap

Food & Water

* Water bottle &/or hydration bladder (2.0 litres minimum total capacity)

* Small thermos (0.5 - 0.75 L)

* Mug

* Snacks to personal taste (e.g high energy cereal bars, nuts, chocolate, sweets)

Health & Safety

* Sun protection – factor 50 for face and hands

* Sunglasses

* Head torch (with new or spare batteries)

Small personal first aid kit

* Any medication you normally use and/or are currently taking (please let us know what you are carrying)

* Compeed blister pads

 

* Zinc oxide tape

* Adhesive dressing (plasters)

* Paracetamol/Ibuprofen tablets/capsules

* Antiseptic cream/spray

* Antihistamine cream/spray

* Electrolyte drinks, glucose tablets etc
